Chosen Theme

I have finally decided on a theme for my final major project! I have gone with BURLESQUE

I have already started in my new sketch book and have been researching into different things circulated around burlesque. 

i have found a lovely burlesque shoot of Katy Perry for GHD there is some stunning corsets and dresses that she models! I have also found some imagery of a collection in 2007 by Yes Master and they have some amazing corsets. From a few of the images i found I have created some designs which are a working progress but hopefully I will be really happy with them when I've done!

Moonspoons

Just seen these gorgeous shoes on the Topshop website and I adore them! They are £145, I wish my bank balance would let me purchase these beautys.

Im loving how everywhere is bringing back the 90s style with the platforms and crop tops, and these shoes defiantly remind me of the spice girls.

Thinking themes

After I have finished my current project I will be starting my FMP(final major project) and in this we can choose any theme we want to get inspiration. I've been thinking about what I could use as my theme over christmas and I have thought about a couple and here they are.

Burlesque

When looking into Burlesque I really loved all the extreme costumes, the bustles, and corsets. I feel choosing a theme like this will be a massive challenge when creating garments but its something i can really 'sink my teeth into' and create something that is outrages and exhilarating. These two images I have added show some great silhouettes for designs.

Flappers

I have also considered looking into the flapper scene of the 20s-30s as I love all the fantastic dresses, and would enjoy looking into the famous dancers of the time who had a massive in pact on fashion as it was seen as such an outrages dance of the 20s(the Charleston). But as Ive already explored these eras on a previous project I dont think i'll be using this theme.
